About Us

People-First Technology, Done Properly

At Lakes IT Services Ltd, we believe technology should be simple, fair, and properly supported. Too often, people are left dealing with call centres, confusing jargon, or services that don’t actually fit their needs.

We do things differently.

We focus on personal service, clear advice, and building long-term relationships — whether we’re supporting an individual at home, a small business, or a community organisation.

How We Started

Lakes IT Services grew from a simple place: helping people properly.

The business began in 2016 (originally trading as NexusTech Services), when we started supporting friends and local contacts with websites and IT help. That early work came from studying web and IT at college, followed by hands-on experience across both technology and health and social care sectors.

Working in both worlds shaped how we operate today, technically capable, but always people-focused.

Over time, we saw too many small businesses and individuals being overcharged, oversold, or locked into services they didn’t understand or need. Discovering someone had been charged £1,500 for a one-page website, something we would typically charge around £300 for, summed it up.

That never sat right with us.

So the business was built around one simple idea:
do the job properly, charge fairly, and treat people with respect.

Becoming Lakes IT Services Ltd

In January 2026, we rebranded as Lakes IT Services Ltd and formally became a limited company.

The rebrand wasn’t about getting bigger or more corporate; it was about becoming more community-focused, clearer in our values, and better positioned to support individuals, local businesses, charities, and community organisations for the long term.

Becoming an Ltd company allows us to:

  • Operate more sustainably

  • Invest in better systems and services

  • Continue offering fair, transparent pricing

  • Provide reassurance and professionalism for customers

While the name has changed, the way we work hasn’t — personal service and trust still come first.

What Matters to Us

We’re proud of the personal connections we build with our customers. We take the time to understand how people work, what systems they rely on, and what actually matters to them.

That means:

  • Knowing our customers and their systems inside and out

  • Responding quickly when something goes wrong

  • Explaining things clearly, without jargon

  • Recommending what’s right, not what’s most expensive

Many customers tell us the same things again and again:

They value the response times, the personal service, and knowing they’re speaking to someone who genuinely cares.

Quietly Community-Focused

Being part of the community matters to us.

We work with individuals, small businesses, charities, and community organisations, and we do our best to support people fairly, regardless of size. That might mean reduced-cost services, practical help with projects, or simply taking the time to point someone in the right direction.

It’s not something we shout about; it’s just how we believe a local business should operate.

How We Work

We’re a small, dedicated team with a shared approach:

  • Personal support - real people, no call centres

  • Honest advice - no pressure or hard selling

  • Fair pricing - transparent and sensible

  • Ongoing relationships - not “fix and forget”

We aim to be the kind of technology partner we’d want ourselves.
